Blog Relief Day

I am participating in Blog Relief Day today. So, I will leave my "No Other America" post up for one more day. I also encourage you to check out a round up of the efforts at Instapundit as well as Technorati's results on Flood Aid.

If you haven't already given, give. If you have, give more. God forbid any of us have such calamity befall us. Do what you'd want others to do for us if we were victims of a disaster of such devastating proportions.

One thing I like to do when a tragedy like this arises that generates a lot of attention (Katrina, 9/11, tsunami, etc.) is make a donation toward this cause, and also give money toward another cause that isn't as prominent in the headlines. But regardless of the approach that you take, everybody should take it upon themselves to give what they can.

I'm with you on this, Lores.
If everyone will give something, it will make a huge difference. Little becomes much when added together.

Lores,

I've made my contribution, but I have to say that the Republic of Texas is doing us all proud, or putting us to shame:

Check it out. Texas is taking in over 75,000 refugees. And that's not counting all the one's who are already there and left before Katrina hit.

Money is great, but don't forget the other things that can be donated: Cloths, diapers, non-perishable foodstuff, etc.....I packed up for the Salvation Army today and they were glad to take everything I had.

Also, don't forget to give blood. It costs you nothing and it will save many lives.....This will eventually become a big issue. Trust me.

As far as continuing to post on this issue: I'll have mine at the top at the Right is Right for a long time.

This effort will be ongoing, and we can't get apathetic.

Another one, Mark? Where's the love, brother. :)

Thanks Lores. With so much going on it can be easy to forget about everything else around us.

Tonight was really the first time I dipped into google news to see how bad things really are. It breaks my heart...

It's nice to have a nudge in the right direction so at least something physical can go along with my prayers.

Hey! Hugh Hewitt had linked to your "No Other America" post. I don't know if you were aware of that. I thought it was cool.
